EDWARD PICKERING LEAVITT was born in Chichester, NH on 11 July 1844, the son of Hazen K and Eunice L (Howe) Leavitt. He died in Epsom, NH on 28 Aug 1919, and was buried in Chichester's Leavitt Cemetery.
He was married on 1 Sept 1869 to EMMA M GLOVER, the daughter of Artemus and Emeline (Loverin) Glover. She was born in Concord, NH on 13 Jan 1847, and died on 5 Mar 1924. She was buried with her husband in Leavitt Cemetery, Chichester.
Following the Civil War, Edward lived for a time in Concord, NH, working as an expressman and as a travelling salesman. He returned to Chichester prior to the 1900 census, and lived there until a couple of years prior to his death, when he removed to Epsom to live with daughter Annie.
Edward and Emma had three children:
I. FLORA B LEAVITT, born and died in 1873.
II. MARY REBECCA (or REBECKA) LEAVITT, b. 25 Dec 1874 in Concord. She married Dr Byron Sanborn
III. ANNA A LEAVITT, b. 24 Nov 1881 in Concord [Marr rec]. Married to EUGENE CHALIS CALL on 1 Sept 1909 in Chichester, NH, the son of Chelice/Chalis and Emily (Durgin) Call [NH Marr Rec]. He was born in Chichester, NH on 19 Mar 1881 [WWI, WWII Draft Reg Cards], and died in 1952 [grave]. They are both buried with her parents in Leavitt Cemetery, Chichester, NH. They had no known children together. Annie lost an infant son when she was 19-years old: 1. (male), b. 2 Oct 1901 in Chichester; d. the next day, from premature birth. In the Descendants of Thomas Leavitt, pg 118, he was called Victor.
